William Richard Wall was the seventh child Joseph Wall & Ellen Hadley born October 30th, 1881 at Ocker Hill, Tipton, & christened November 20th, 1881 at St Mark’s, Tipton.
In 1891 William was living his parents at 26 Dudley St, Wednesbury, Staffs.
By 1901 William had moved with his widowed father & older brother Joseph & his family to Warrington, Lancs. They were living at 8 Philips St & all 3 men were working at the iron works.
William was still living with his brother Joseph & his wife Hannah Elizabeth at 39 Forster St, Warrington in 1911. William was an iron works forger as were his brother & father. Still with them was Joseph’s widowed father. Also recorded on the census was Joseph & Hannah’s son, John Joseph (18), who was a galvanizer at the wireworks.
William married Winifred Stevens in July-September 1915 at Warrington. Winifred was born June 13th, 1892 at Warrington.
The 1939 register shows William & Winifred living at 10 Earl St, Warrington with son George, a steel unloader, & 2 other children. William was a gas works labourer.
Daughter Edna married Arthur Western in Jan-March 1942 in Warrington.
Son George married Susan Marjorie Wadey in 1946 in Lewes, Sussex.
Winifred died May 20th, 1965 & was buried in Warrington Cemetery. William died August 16th 1966 & was also buried in Warrington Cemetery.
